The One Habit That Took My Digital Writing to the Next Level

The first 6 months of my writing career, I was basically just shouting into the void.

I wrote multi-thousand-word expository essays that were an expression of my soul into the world. I channeled my pain and created articles that would help my younger self avoid heartache and agony. I spent hours upon hours crafting the perfect sentences.

And the result?

There were no results.

No one read my work, no one wanted to give me money for my work, and I although I got better at writing during that time, there was no real proof of my improvement.

It was a dark time.

Then, I learned one habit that changed the way that I think about writing.

It’s not what you think.

I learned how to play the game.

Most new writers take things too personally.

They’re afraid of writing bad work, they’re afraid of not making money, and they don’t want to risk being seen in a light that is different from how they want to be portrayed.
