The Not-So-Glamorous Truth about “Traveling the World”

I’ve been on 21 trips this year.
That might sound nice to you, but I promise, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.
This photo is from Burano, Italy, where I spent a day a few weeks ago with my girlfriend. It’s a beautiful, small town just outside of Venice. We had to take a boat taxi to get there.
How did I get to live a life of travel and (relatively frequent) tourism?
Well, it was pretty simple. You can probably do it too.
First, I was a brat who decided that he didn’t want to work “a real job”.
When I was younger, I worked normal young person jobs, but there’s a gap on my resume from the time I was 22 onward.
I worked in a restaurant when I was younger. I was a camp counselor.
The reason? I became a “professional Jiu-Jitsu athlete” and “internet writer” instead. I gave up the stability to teach kids Jiu-Jitsu, private lessons (through word-of-mouth marketing alone), and create an online content portfolio.
