How I Created a Life Full of Adventure
And it’s only getting started.
Here’s a photo I took this morning in Vietri Sul Mare, a little town outside of Salerno, Italy:
Vietri Sul Mare is considered to be the gateway to the Amalfi Coast.
Getting here was a bit of a wild ride. Here’s how I did it.
First, I obsessed over one thing for about a decade.
I took this trip with money that I made from teaching and competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I got my black belt in Jiu-Jitsu last week, and before that, I was training nearly every day, several times per day, for about 7 years.
Before that, I was a wrestler for 6 years.
6 years of wrestling + 7 years of obsessive Jiu-Jitsu training gave me the skillset to begin to make a living doing what I love, but it wasn’t until this week that I was able to take myself on an international vacation using the money I made from what used to be my “hobby”. I hope this isn’t the last time I get an experience like this.
It’s so much not what you do (although yes, some things pay better than others), it’s how well and how long you practice.
