Maybe I’ve written too many “life lessons” articles.

Considering that I’m not even 25 years old and most of the decisions I make are bad ones, I don’t really think that I have the authority to tell everyone how to live their lives.

In the picture above, I’m sticking my own sweaty jacket in my mouth so that I can use it to choke this giant dude on who I’m laying. Do you really want life lessons from a dude who fights people in bathrobes all day?

I guess maybe you do because you’re still reading this.

But no matter how you feel about some of my other life lessons articles, I’ve realized something about life lessons that are changing the way that I think.

“Life lessons” are incredibly subjective. Your life lessons might not help me become a better pajama fighter, and my life lessons from pajama fighting might not make you a better husband or friend, or employee.

In fact, many of the life lessons I’ve learned from pajama fighting will probably make you worse at those things.

Here are 5 common life lessons from the martial arts world that you need to stop taking to heart.

Your “happiness” is most important.
