12 Hard Lessons From the Last 12 Months

What got you here won’t get you there.

For the last 12 months, I’ve gotten pretty much everything I’ve wanted. I had some great BJJ comp achievements, basically tripled my monthly income, and grew my writing views by about 10x.

But eventually, I plateaued in everything.

Recently, I’ve been trying to figure out why I’ve been plateauing, and I think the biggest red flag is that I’ve been using very similar strategies to the ones I used a year ago. As you elevate, your strategies must elevate with you.

No one succeeds alone.

People seem to be more impressed by things you achieve without the help of others, so I always made a point to reject help from friends and family members.

This made my life a lot harder than it needed to be, and it slowed my growth in many areas.

The quickest cure for burnout is an environmental shift.

Every time I travel, my motivation to work hard amplifies.
